Westat is currently seeking motivated individuals who are committed to excellence and are experienced in working with primary and secondary school students to work as Assessment Coordinators (ACs) for the 2019 National Assessment of Educational Progress (NAEP). Assessment Coordinators will assist participating schools with activities to prepare for assessments and lead an assessment team of 3-4 Assessment Administrators (AAs) in conducting assessment sessions, using tablets with 4th-, 8th-, and 12th-grade students in participating schools across the country. This opportunity is ideal for retired educators.

·Be at least 18 years old;
·Successfully complete online training in November 2018; and
·Be available to complete pre-training home study in November 2018 and attend a 5-day, in-person training from December 1 - 5, 2018, or December 7 - 11, 2018 (prior to the start of data collection).
·Be available to work for the specified data collection period of January 28 through March 8, 2019;
·Be available to work up to 40 hours per week;
·Attend and successfully complete in-person training;
·Be able to coordinate/be responsible for the transportation of a rolling case containing technical equipment weighing up to 50 pounds to and from schools, with or without reasonable accommodations;
·Be able to move around the assessment room in order to monitor assessment activities and respond to student questions;
·Have regular and reliable access to telephone service with a long-distance calling feature, either landline or cellular;
·Have regular and reliable access to a high-speed Internet connection (a tablet and mobile broadband device will be provided);
·Have regular and reliable access to an insured vehicle (except in certain metropolitan areas);
·Have a valid (current) driver’s license that is not under suspension (except in certain metropolitan areas); and
·Have a high school diploma or GED.
Preferred candidates will also be able to lift and carry up to 50 pounds (which includes technical equipment) and be able to climb stairs if needed, with or without reasonable accommodations.
