Westat is seeking a Patient Care Coordinator (PCC) for Clinical Trials who will work as part of a ERPi team under contract to the National Heart Lung Blood Institute (NHLBI) DIR and will be responsible for all patient care coordination needs of the DIR’s clinical research program, including assignments to specific protocols, research areas, and/or research teams. The PCC will work closely with clinical research teams and patients to meet protocol objectives. The PCC will be responsible for coordinating all patient-related activities throughout the research lifecycle.
·Coordinate all new patient activities, including creating intake forms, new patient letters and packets, entering patient data, and requesting medical records.
·Support clinical teams with clinic activities, and attend weekly clinic planning meeting and disseminate weekly clinic schedules.
·Update clinic schedules, ensure patient availability, and schedule foreign-language and sign interpretation as needed.
·Assist the research team with scheduled patient admission and payments for travel/lodging
·Arrange for lodging as appropriate, in coordination with social work department Serve as liaison between clinical team and other NIH departments.
·Maintain a current electronic tracking system for all communications.
·Assist research staff with monitoring/audit preparation and perform additional duties as directed by the research.
·A Bachelor’s degree in a health-related field is required.
·Must be able to obtain a Public Trust clearance.
·1-2 years’ experience preferred.
·Experience in a healthcare setting preferred.
·Passion for working in a clinical research setting.
·Patient and customer service orientation.
The successful candidate must be able to work both independently and in a team environment, demonstrate excellent attention to detail, and have strong written and oral communication skills, interpersonal, and organizational skills.
